Vampires ?!!
The origin of the vampire began when a small group of humans became infected with the unusual disease now identified as Porphyric Haemophilia. This disease morphed their mortal DNA into that of a supernatural creature - the vampire. It has been said that the disease was brought by the demons when they crossed over to the human realm from their own. It has never been proven that these legends are true, and even the vampires themselves dispute on the origin of the disease that created their species.
Types of Vampires
Aryan Vampires
- Are Pure-blooded Vampires that are born not made. They age one year, every twenty years, unless they find a way to stop the ageing process.
- They are immortal
- Are able to go into the sunlight with a protective amulet but most don't
- They are extremely powerful because of their pure vampire heritage and are born with a power, but can also learn them as time goes on.
Sanguine Vampires
- Are turned vampires that are created by one of the other types. They are obedient to their sire but may not be loyal to them (depends on the individual)
- Cannot go out into the sunlight without burning to death
- If their sire has a power, they can inherit a small part of the power and then learn to control it. But it's the power that their sire holds and no other
Day-walker Vampires
- Are mutated vampires that didn't complete the change properly but are still vampires
- They are able to go into the sunlight for at least five hours without feeling the effects of the sun. Any longer and they become sick and or die
- They need to drink blood more often than some of the other types of vampires
Dhampirs
- Are half vampires and half human. They age one year after every three human ones, but cannot become immortal.
- They are able to go out into the sunlight for as long as they wish, however they can never tan
- They need to drink blood every so often
- Have both human and vampire strengths and weaknesses but it changes depending on the individual
How to kill or harm a vampire?
There are several ways to kill or harm these immortal creatures, despite what they might try and convince others. Only knowledge past through generations of vampires and research conducted have made these weaknesses come to light.
Sunlight is fatal to any vampire that comes into contact with it. Any exposure will cause them to instantly burst into flames that will continue to burn until they incinerate and die, unless they return to safety. It is possible for a vampire to heal from this injury if the exposure is limited. However, it greatly weakens them, and it takes longer than a month to heal, and even then, they are left with semi-permanent scarring.
Decapitation is a permanent way to kill any vampire. However, this task isn't an easy one and it must be done with a sharp weapon that can completely behead them. Another way, is to cut out their heart or drive a stake through it at the right angle. The only way for a vampire to survive this kind of attack, is for them to be improperly staked, and even then, they are usually deemed to weak to survive and are slaughtered by one of their own kind.
Fire can also be considered fatal to vampires, however it depends on the situation, as to whether they might be killed or injured. Most cases of fire deaths have been reported to be because the vampire has been severely injured but hasn't yet died. This is why fire is considered a secondary death.
Lycan Bites usually result in death for a vampire. However, if they are only scratched instead of bitten, they are more likely to survive, depending on how much damage was caused. Either way, the vampire is severely weakened by any scratch given to them by a Lycan, and lasts the same amount of time as sunlight exposure.
Contaminated Blood was invented by the lycans to keep the vampires at bay. It is somewhat lethal to any vampire, depending on the amount they drink, and different types, keep a vampire guessing as to what will happen to them. Because contaminated blood is hard to recognise, it makes it harder for a vampire to recover, and sometimes they don't at all.
Other?
A human doesn't always survive being turned by a vampire. While the reason for this remains unknown, it is more likely to happen when a younger vampire recklessly decides to try and change a mortal and they aren't strong or powerful enough to create one. The same goes for a mortal with contaminated blood. They cannot be turned or saved if the blood is harmful to the vampire. Instead, it will kill the mortal and wound or destroy the vampire.
Vampires can also be infected by a mental illness
